Description:Comunilife Inc., a multi-service, non-profit organization founded in 1989, operates a continuum of residential programs for adults with HIV/AIDS and/or serious mental illness, a licensed mental health clinic and other programs in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. Our mission is to improve the quality of life and create a healthier tomorrow for New Yorkers with special needs in the Hispanic and broader communities.

POSITION: Vice President of Human Resources

Duties:Under the supervision of the Executive Vice President/COO, the Vice President of Human Resources will develop and execute policies, procedures and programs that provide a clear, consistent framework for the Human Resources department of a growing non-profit agency with 330 employees. The Vice President of Human Resources assists senior management on all HR issues and has overall responsibility for HR activities such as orientation and training, compensation, benefits, staff development and employee relations. Assists Chief Program Officer with the recruitment and retention of staff.

Qualifications:We are looking for a senior-level Human Resources Generalist with a broad knowledge of all aspects of HR, experience with non-profit organizations and knowledge of legal and regulatory labor requirements. A dynamic, energetic, flexible and strong manager, the Vice President of Human Resources must have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and demonstrated knowledge of and experience with HRIS and Millenium systems, especially data compilation and report writing. The VP of Human Resources must also have expertise with budgeting, financial reporting and allocating agency resources.

Additional requirements include:

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Human Services Administration;
• Prefer eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in senior management in human resources; relevant experience may be substituted;
• Membership in SPHR is desirable as is training in organizational development, compensation, and preventive labor relations.
