Job Description: Dual job role. Short term (1-2 years full time) Modeling and documentation of mechanical and electrical COTS (commercial off the shelf) and MIL (Military Standard) parts for the Raytheon library. Work closely with engineering and accurately interpret data sheets and drawings used in the model creation as well as storing files in PDM (product data management system). Will be responsible for model quality and documentation meeting all applicable DOD and Industry standards. Long term (after 1-2 years) opportunity to transition into mechanical engineering design roles working on airborne turreted electro optical systems.

Required Skills:

  • CREO Parametric (6 yrs minimum, was formerly known as ProEngineer) modeling and drawing creation.
  • PTC Windchill or other PDM (product data management, particularly for CAD files) tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Expertise with ASME 14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices) and associated standards
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.


Desired Skills:

  • Mechanical Engineering skills (electro optical design and analysis)
  • Ability to interpret data sheets/drawings and work with programs to create models conforming to rigorous enterprise library model quality standards
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Familiarity with MIL-DTL-31000 (technical data packages) standards


Required education:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent STEM degree and 6 years of experience

Desired education:
Masters Degree Mechanical Engineering or equivalent STEM degree and 4 years of experience
