Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports the Project Team by collecting, validating, tracking, reviewing and keying/data entry of financial information related to cost measurement, customer billings, accounts payables, payroll entries, and fleet and equipment utilization.
  • In conjunction with Project Team, develop the Work Breakdown Structure and Budgets for a project as needed.
  • Prepare monthly project accruals, acting as liaison between Accounting personnel and Project Managers to ensure all monthly expenses are accounted for.
  • Analyze actual costs and understand if improper cost allocations have occurred on assigned projects.
  • Analyze actual costs against budget and/or forecast and understand impact variances may have of sales/profit margin, EAC calculations, contract performance and cash flow on assigned projects.
  • Maintain constant interaction with Project Managers and Finance and Accounting personnel to ensure the contractual obligations of assigned projects meet their service level agreements and potential risks are mitigated.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all assigned projects related financial information.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely billing of assigned projects related billings.
  • Review, code and submit supplier invoices and voucher corrections to Accounts Payable, as needed.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets and reporting of the key performance indicators for the project
  • Monitor the financial “health” of the project and raise the “red flag” when a negative impact or condition arises
  • Forecasts and manages project financials, planned vs actual project schedule, and resource utilization
  • Assist Project Managers in preparation of periodic project forecasts.
  • Work with PM’s to develop accurate costs to complete estimates and percent complete evaluations
  • Track, monitor, and report planned budgets/forecast vs. actual spend using project management tools
  • Provide variance explanations and possible recovery plan actions
  • Provide governance and develop metrics to ensure financial processes are followed correctly
  • Researches payable transaction issues and assists in implementing improvements.
  • Track internal and external invoicing and reconciliation of cash receipts
  • Performs subcontractor management activities including preparing purchase requisitions, processing of invoices, and preparation of accruals
  • Review and approve Purchase Order Requisitions in alignment with budget and track P.O’s
  • Assist with the preparation, processing and tracking of contract Change Orders

 

Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 5 years as a financial analyst or in a similar role
  • Undergraduatedegree in Finance (Preferred)
  • Understanding of general financial processes
  • Project management background preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • 5+ years of proven experience tracking down the right data and figures, and digging into large amounts of data to identify complex financial problems.
  • Strong communication skills demonstrating the ability to cooperate with different functional teams across multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to be engaged and resolve everyday business challenges with a financial perspective
  • Ability to enhance process knowledge and adapt to ever changing objectives and priorities
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and all otherMS Office tools – specifically MS Project.
  • Ability to extract data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
  • Basic understanding of timekeeping and financial management systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Project Management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to highly organized, learn new tasks quickly, define process improvements, and strive for success.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to produce high-quality work as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
