Title: Quality Engineer II
Industry: Industrial Gear/ Component Manufacturing
Location: Milwaukee, WI
The Quality Engineer II will design and execute the control plan, audits to ensure that control plans are being followed, and ensures containment and corrective action in the event of non-conformance as well as provide technical assistance to the purchasing department related to quality of raw materials and subcontract machining.
Lead Responsibilities for Quality Engineer II:
? Conduct research, make recommendations and assist with development in establishing inspection methods and procedures on inspection equipment and record systems.
? Coach and develop Quality Specialists and/or Quality Inspectors.
? Participate in various company programs such as training, safety, communications, etc.
? Coordinate and conduct internal quality system audits to determine compliance to ISO 9001 standards.
? Compiles data analysis, reports and recommends quality audits and inspection improvements. Includes customer line and field analysis, corrective action effectiveness, and overall internal quality metrics effectiveness.
? Designs the internal standards to be followed by the Quality department and operators.
? Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of the quality planning for continuous improvement.
? Assigns and works with cross-functional team members and outside experts as required to coordinate the analysis of data in support of final root cause and corrective action determination for product and system non-conformances.
? Facilitates training, corrective action process review, and is typically the corrective action leader and the single point of contact to the customer for corrective action.
? Ensure all customer quality requirements are integrated into the QMS and communicate to management when gaps exist in meeting those requirements.
? Provides an overview of the customer quality requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience for Quality Engineer II:
? BA/BS Technical Degree
? 3+ years experience, preferably in high mix low volume machine shop and/or gear cutting/grinding operations, with a core base of skills to progress innovation and forward thinking in an aggressive environment where quality and customer requirements are paramount
? Knowledge of CNC, manufacturing of alloy and carbon steel precision gears and components, and heat treating is a plus
? Must be knowledgeable with applicable ISO 9000 and quality system requirements and policies
