Production Manager

The Production Manager plays an integral role in the continued success of plant operations and will be a key contributor in furthering the plant’s lean transformation process. This role works hand in hand with the Plant Manager on shaping plant culture, engaging employees, and developing current and future leaders. 

 

The Production Manager has overall responsibility of manufacturing lines for a continuous shift operation. The Production Manager will be responsible for management to include continuous improvement activities, planning, capital expenditures and reporting as required. The Production Manager will be a site champion for Lean Six Sigma processes. This position is accountable for delivering the established site goals for quality, productivity, budgetary and environmental, health and safety compliance.

  Position Responsibilities

  • Ensures the timely execution of the production schedule through management practices
  • Champion continuous improvement activities in production to include lean six sigma activities
  • Performs administrative reporting for operation in SAP environment
  • Develop production team using best practice methods
  • Mange budgetary responsibilities for the department
  • Manage Safety, Maintenance, Quality and Sanitation programs for manufacturing lines
  • Capital project development and management

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of food / beverage bottling / can manufacturing
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma certifications / training
  • Demonstrated understanding and proven implementation of TPM (Total Production Maintenance) / 5S
  • SAP manufacturing applications and strong computer skills
  • Basic understanding of labor and federal regulations
  • Demonstrated supervisory, organizational and interpersonal ability
  • Ability to problem solve and multitask
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • 5 years supervisory experience
