Set up and properly operate various alignment equipment in accordance to prescribed methods. Be able to demonstrate the difference between different equipment and being able to use them in different circumstances.

Be familiar with various terms relating to foundation flatness, roller-path, parallelism, and co-planer requirements by reviewing the referenced foundation drawings. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge on centerline transfers, roller-path determinations using sine curves. Operate equipment to demonstrate either proper function or to analyze discrepancies using data obtained during various stages of the Combat Systems alignment.   Demonstrate knowledge of where to find the alignment requirements.

Repair, replace and adjust equipment or components, replacing worn parts such as gaskets and seals. Inspect components of equipment for accurate assembly and for defects such as loose screws, nuts connections and frayed wires. Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining equipment or components. Consult with customers, supervisors, and engineers to plan layout of equipment and to resolve problems in system operations and maintenance.   Install repaired equipment in various setting, such as industrial and military establishments.   Develop industrial electronic devices, circuits and equipment according to available specifications. Will be required to carry up to 50lbs of Alignment equipment from and to various locations throughout the ship. Ability to climb both vertical ladders and stairways and work in tight spaces.   To stand, kneel, extend overhead for prolong periods of time.   Effectively utilize workers assigned to accomplish task. Work with little or no supervision.

CONUS & OCONUS travel required. Office location can be either Norfolk, VA. San Diego CA., or Jacksonville FL.


The candidate must have 8-12 (eight to twelve) years of experience in Combat Systems Alignment on board US Navy Ships, demonstrate proficiency in utilizing the ship specific Combat Systems Alignment Manual (CSAM) and the SW225-A0-MMA-010/ALIGNTHEORY manual.   Familiarity with Photogrammetry and Laser equipment will be beneficial.
