The UT Health Physicians CEO provides leadership and directs the overall operation of the group consistent with the mission, values, and strategy of Ardent Health Services, the UT Health East Texas system as well as the goals and objectives of the physician group.  Ardent’s decentralized leadership model empowers our CEOs as strategic business partners with the authority and flexibility to make things happen.   In the ever-changing healthcare world, it takes a team of creative thinkers to establish and maintain the level of patient care that we deliver.   In order to provide this superb healthcare service, you will plan, organize, apply, direct, control, and evaluate all resources (human, facilities, equipment, capital, fiscal, and others) invested in the physician group.   With these resources, the CEO will generate measurable results to benefit the corporation, the community, the group, and the patient.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • Develop short and long range management and organization plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with group goals and objectives.
  • Implement Ardent Health Services’ Ethics & Compliance program throughout the organization.
  • Provide administrative direction for the recruitment, employment, development, and retention of all facility employees.  
  • Ensure that policies are uniformly understood and consistently interpreted and administered.
  • You will develop and maintain Medical Staff relationships and recruit Medical Staff to OPG.
  • Prepare and present operational and financialreports as required in regularly scheduled meetings and committees.
  • You will be responsible for the groups quality improvement and organizational effectiveness programs.
  • Oversee and evaluate Patient, Employee and Physician satisfaction surveys data.
  • Strategize and drive process improvements. 
  • Promote the use and implementation of technology in order to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes.

 

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, MBA or MHA are preferred

 

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years’ applicable experience in physician group administration

  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and effectively apply guidelines, policies, and procedures

  • Must be able to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation

  • Track record of implementing short and long range strategic plans

  • Excellent verbal, quantitative, managerial, and interpersonal skills

  • Current healthcare industry knowledge

  • Sound judgment in decision making is imperative
