History of Vaccines in Canada: The Online Exhibit Launched The Museum of Health Care has launched an extensive new online exhibit entitled: Vaccines and Immunization: Epidemics, Prevention and Canadian Innovation, made possible with the support of Sanofi Pasteur Canada. Guest-curated by medical historian, Christopher Rutty, the virtual exhibit is based on the physical display that opened in Kingston a year ago. With text, museum artifacts, archival photos and historic films, the online exhibit focuses on the Canadian experience with smallpox, diphtheria, polio and pertussis and the major role Canadian scientists, especially at Connaught Laboratories, played in developing the vaccines that brought these diseases under control. Also featured are the histories of rabies, influenza, tetanus, tuberculosis, measles, Haemophilus influenzae Type b and combined vaccines, as well as profiles of scientists who played key roles in the Canadian vaccine development and innovation story. http://www.museumofhealthcare.ca/explore/exhibits/vaccinations/
